The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bogdan Gomolka during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sitthachat Jampeehom had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Mariano Lacasa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Sitthachat Jampeehom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 12th minute of play forced Gavião Kyikatejê's goalkeeper Sitthachat Jampeehom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chile's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Miguel Zuasnabar 16 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Orlando Casaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sitthachat Jampeehom having to interfere. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Zuasnabar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Davie McWhirter might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Pliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Davie McWhirter ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Gavião Kyikatejê getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Gogo Oriol hit a great ball. Sitthachat Jampeehom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 36th minute of play. Miguel Zuasnabar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Zuasnabar. In the 46thth minute of the game Miguel Zuasnabar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Gavião Kyikatejê defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sitthachat Jampeehom. The Gavião Kyikatejê fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sitthachat Jampeehom should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Gavião Kyikatejê's Sitthachat Jampeehom got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Miguel Zuasnabar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miguel Zuasnabar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sitthachat Jampeehom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Orlando Casaus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Sitthachat Jampeehom made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Zuasnabar in the 74th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute of the match Gavião Kyikatejê got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Miroslaw Dobilas ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Gong Zhen Fan heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Zuasnabar in the 77th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Lacasa in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sitthachat Jampeehom saved Gavião Kyikatejê from getting behind. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Mariano Lacasa sped through Gavião Kyikatejê's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sitthachat Jampeehom. In the 84th minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Sitthachat Jampeehom. Gavião Kyikatejê's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Zuasnabar in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. 93 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sitthachat Jampeehom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Chile left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Gavião Kyikatejê.
