Luz Tejedor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Louis Van Bever having to interfere. Mathijs Rokeloos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute of the game 沈笑伟 made a throw-in which Karl-Heinz Kaltz played forward. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andries Vermeiren, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Jean-Louis Van Bever took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milagros Fraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Cromvelde's zone, Eliseo Mina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Louis Van Bever came out of the goal and Eliseo Mina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathijs Rokeloos got free with Rolando Noboa in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Mathijs Rokeloos came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mathijs Rokeloos in the 25th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mathijs Rokeloos. The KFC Cromvelde fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jean-Louis Van Bever should have stopped the shot. After the first half Peru were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Jean-Louis Van Bever showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 51st minute of the match. Jean-Louis Van Bever breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 71 minutes into the match, KFC Cromvelde's Mathijs Rokeloos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jean-Louis Van Bever made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 76th minute of play. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Jochen Van den Panhuizen made in the 81st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Mathijs Rokeloos. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind KFC Cromvelde's goalkeeper Jean-Louis Van Bever, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathijs Rokeloos in the 85th minute of play. Jean-Louis Van Bever stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafael Gallo's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. With a little luck, KFC Cromvelde's Jean-Louis Van Bever got control of the ball when Rafael Gallo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 92 minutes of play, Peru's Rafael Gallo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean-Louis Van Bever was left in no man's land by his defense there! The KFC Cromvelde fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
