The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute, Kaimo Viilup hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 12th minute of play forced Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalkeeper Petru Nisporeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chile's Orlando Casaus managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Llope Ojeda in the 15 minute of the game. Mariano Lacasa scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petru Nisporeanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Petru Nisporeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Chile booed when Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Llope Ojeda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Fontirroig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petru Nisporeanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Casaus in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Mauricio Guadalupe notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Deportivo Peñarol FIFV defense, Orlando Casaus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petru Nisporeanu. The Deportivo Peñarol FIFV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petru Nisporeanu should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Chile's Pedro Indiano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Petru Nisporeanu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Örjan Forssell tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Chile were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Örjan Forssell made a kick off. Petru Nisporeanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 51st minute. Mariano Lacasa in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Petru Nisporeanu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Petru Nisporeanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 54th minute. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Örjan Forssell. But to his dismay, Örjan Forssell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Petru Nisporeanu made a huge save. The supporters of Chile booed when Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Llope Ojeda didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th match minute, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Llope Ojeda to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Petru Nisporeanu managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Chile's Mariano Lacasa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Orlando Casaus hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Llope Ojeda kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Orlando Casaus hit a great ball. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liu Yan Yan in the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute Deportivo Peñarol FIFV were awarded a corner. Liu Yan Yan went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Liu Yan Yan almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Chile's Thiago Pliego did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Petru Nisporeanu in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 89 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Petru Nisporeanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Örjan Forssell took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-5.
