Seterma Tractors's Patrik Sikström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 14th minute of play. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Acácio Santana struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seterma Tractors. 23 minutes into the game, Miguel Miralles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seterma Tractors the free kick. In the 23rd minute, Miguel Miralles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Enéas de Toledo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcos Cotilla came out and tried to block the shot, but Enéas de Toledo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. Marcos Cotilla was a little too slow when Ademir Tande got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio Santana in the 38th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Enéas de Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Panama's Dylan Sarmiento seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dylan Sarmiento the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Panama protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dylan Sarmiento had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 44 minutes into the game, one of Panama:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

The wind increased when Ademir Tande made the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enéas de Toledo in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Seterma Tractors booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Berganza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute Gil Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 81 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademir Tande in the 84th minute of the match. Patrik Sikström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. The supporters of Seterma Tractors booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Miralles didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
