When Garth Brough came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Australian Youth Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Garth Brough couldn't finish the play. Joaquin Gayoso didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 22nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 28th minute Garth Brough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garth Brough struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Australian Youth Academy. After 34 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Franco. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Cesar Cornelius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Cesar Cornelius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 37 played minutes Garth Brough rounded Uruguay's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. 44 minutes into the game, Jorge Sainz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uruguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Australian Youth Academy the free kick. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz got a free kick in the 44th minute. Ellis Hoskin kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Garth Brough to strike the kick off in the second half. If Garth Brough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garth Brough in the 70th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Garth Brough in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. The throw-in from Arturo Carvallo in the 78th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Australian Youth Academy's Cesar Cornelius. In the 82nd minute, Garth Brough ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garth Brough in the 87th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough. But to his dismay, Garth Brough quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Garth Brough succeeded in the game's 92nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Australian Youth Academy had won after a very even match.
