The crowd rose to their feet as Cazimir Ciulei kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 in the 26 minute of play. English Fire were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Costică Nedelcu took the corner. The corner ended in Costică Nedelcu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven-Edvin Ahlroth in the 32nd minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Nae Hăvârneanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Costică Nedelcu charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Edvin Ahlroth in the 52nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in English Fire's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dragoş Puric came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cazimir Ciulei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Ahlroth, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. The corner led English Fire's Costică Nedelcu to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of English Fire booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great ball. Costică Nedelcu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Sven-Edvin Ahlroth put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven-Edvin Ahlroth in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. After 82 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Costică Nedelcu who took care of the corner kick. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nae Hăvârneanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Sven-Edvin Ahlroth notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cristinel Negulescu in the 92 minute of the game. English Fire's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
