After a rather tough play, C.F Intercity's Bartosz Salamon got a free kick in the 36th minute. Javier Urruticoechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 38th minute of play. After 38 minutes of play, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Javier Urruticoechea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Javier Urruticoechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 41st minute of play. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Javier Urruticoechea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olivar Ribeiro was the one to do the kick off. After 50 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. After 54 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Leoz. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Javier Urruticoechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 66th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Cazacu, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. C.F Intercity made a substitution. Luis Zamora replaced Olivar Ribeiro. The supporters of Mexico booed when C.F Intercity was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aarón Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Javier Urruticoechea was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
