An unexpectedly hard shot by Taavet Vest in the 19th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eimar Kraut, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harkujärve JK's Odin Son played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 74th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Harkujärve JK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ecuador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
