Edward Engström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edward Engström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of play. The throw-in from Primitivo Andino in the 64th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Joxa mé trasan's Doyle Brunson. After a rather tough play, Joxa mé trasan's Doyle Brunson got a free kick in the 64th minute. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in 66 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Edward Engström guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Primitivo Andino made in the 71st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Felix Montenegro. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Laureano Beliran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Edward Engström made a huge save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laureano Beliran, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute.
