In the 17th minute, Kurt Kaszubik reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 2-0. The supporters of Warmia Grajewo booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Giliusson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. In the 67th minute Kurt Kaszubik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
