But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arne Bronco couldn't finish the play. Edward Engström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edward Engström. Edward Engström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Arne Bronco sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edward Engström. That made the score 0-3 after 61 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edward Engström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
