In the 6th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Batıkan Muhsin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Vladislav Trúpchev was substituted for Kurtuluş Senih. After a rather tough play, Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Benedicto Bihar got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 82nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Aykut Canel was substituted for Benedicto Bihar. In the 96th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
