But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Avgustin Yochev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. Kosta Kúnov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Veliko Stefchov.

In the 70th minute Thomas Rix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Ramiro da Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. 84 minutes into the game, Ramiro da Silva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 87th minute. 96 minutes into the game, Thomas Rix cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Laziali's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
