Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joel Gaona during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC LIVERPOOL booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Gaona didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Pere Montaña came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the FC LIVERPOOL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pere Montaña couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Batuhan Yılmaz in the 52nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bektaş Ali Toper's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After 59 played minutes FC LIVERPOOL got a freekick which was hit by Martial Jay. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC LIVERPOOL's 蒋永川 was substituted for Martial Jay. FC LIVERPOOL made a substitution. Greg Chilton replaced Ashley Wiseman. Diogo Godin went to the cornerflag to take it. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Alberto Tafalla slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Phil Porter. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pere Montaña in the 86th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Bektaş Ali Toper notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
