The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Pardini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Pardini. Alvaro Pardini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Biagio Pallini. In the 26th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Foot Ball Club di Roma booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes in the game Luis Andino did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Cristian Sancho. 42 minutes into the match, Foot Ball Club di Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Alvaro Pardini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Pardini. Alvaro Pardini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Foot Ball Club di Roma's Biagio Scoca was substituted for Biagio Pallini. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Alvaro Pardini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 52nd minute of the match. After 54 minutes, Ettore Scarcella mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Foot Ball Club di Roma and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Ettore Scarcella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Sancho could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Alvaro Pardini however easily saved by the left post. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Foot Ball Club di Roma's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When Biagio Scoca came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Foot Ball Club di Roma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Biagio Scoca couldn't finish the play. Biagio Scoca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Biagio Scoca, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Foot Ball Club di Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Alvaro Pardini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Alvaro Pardini in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Biagio Scoca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Biagio Scoca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 91 minutes, Armando Ceresoli made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Armando Ceresoli charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armando Ceresoli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 96 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Ceresoli came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
