The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmílson Gaúcho in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Fire Devils's goalkeeper Odysseus Lindenmann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. With a little luck, Fire Devils's Odysseus Lindenmann got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Robin Andermatt kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes Fire Devils got a freekick which was hit by Dariusz Nalaskowski. With a little luck, Fire Devils's Odysseus Lindenmann got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 94th minute, Sven-Arne Bengtsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
