BK Gubbhöft were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ciro Incendio took the corner. Ciro Incendio made a great header on BK Gubbhöft's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fidel Veronica stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by BK Gubbhöft's Ove Salkvist. But to his dismay, Ove Salkvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ove Salkvist in the 55th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Fidel Veronica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, BK Gubbhöft's Ove Salkvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Ove Salkvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hans-Georg Luabunnum in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 93 minutes, Hans-Georg Luabunnum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BK Gubbhöft's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans-Georg Luabunnum was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The BK Gubbhöft players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
