Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Senijad Ibričić hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Afiz Ching took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bolivar's goalkeeper Afiz Ching, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brett Cordrey in the 29th minute of play. Senijad Ibričić could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Patrik Stöckert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Afiz Ching tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 36 minutes, Tedj Sellal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tedj Sellal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afiz Ching, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Senijad Ibričić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the match, Bolivar's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Afiz Ching reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino's late challenge caught a Bolivar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Andino helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bolivar booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tedj Sellal in the 68th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afiz Ching breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tedj Sellal hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Afiz Ching took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Bolivar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdelmalek Belhadj didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Bolivar's goalkeeper Afiz Ching had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 87th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Afiz Ching was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 89th minute Senijad Ibričić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afiz Ching made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 93rd minute.
