Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 2 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigel Tilea. Gigel Tilea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 7th minute, Mihai Oniga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gigel Tilea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigel Tilea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gigel Tilea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Dichiseanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 26th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Tilea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Mihai Oniga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Academia Rio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Mihai Oniga hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radu Păvăloae in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Dumitru Pantelimon's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dumitru Pantelimon helped the player get up and apologised. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. When Radu Păvăloae fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Rio's protests and gave Radu Păvăloae a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Radu Păvăloae hit a great ball. After 57 played minutes Academia Rio got a freekick which was hit by Aron Suşu. In the 58th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gigel Tilea made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radu Păvăloae in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gigel Tilea firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience was convinced that Radu Păvăloae's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Olimpiu Dichiseanu was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When Academia Rio's Radu Păvăloae in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. 78 minutes into the game, Academia Rio's Olimpiu Dichiseanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gigel Tilea. That made the score 2-2 after 83 minutes of play. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Radu Păvăloae put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radu Păvăloae in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st minute Sergiu Coșeriu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Gigel Tilea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Academia Rio support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
