Loco Durazno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arne Tönnberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Golden Lions FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Golden Lions FC's corner Georg Termander fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anders Lundqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Alonso Berganza made in the 20th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Moises Gayoso immediately put the ball in play. Anders Lundqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Golden Lions FC's zone, Luz Tejedor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anders Lundqvist came out of the goal and Luz Tejedor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mats Nyström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Anders Lundqvist. Golden Lions FC's Anders Lundqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 35th minute of play. Anders Lundqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. The Golden Lions FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 0-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 55th minute of play forced Golden Lions FC's goalkeeper Anders Lundqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseo Mina took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anders Lundqvist. Anders Lundqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Golden Lions FC made a substitution. Marcelo Steven replaced İbrahim Efe Topdemir. After 72 minutes, Bebben Johansson made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Peru's Rolando Noboa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Golden Lions FC made a substitution. Burç Tokhan replaced Loco Durazno. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Arne Tönnberg, made in the 77th minute of the game. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. After a rather tough play, Peru's Julian Murillo got a free kick in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Arne Tönnberg threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 91 minutes into the match, Rafael Gallo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anders Lundqvist, 1-4.
