After 18 played minutes Tarada got a freekick which was hit by Erasmus Fries. With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Wolf Ehrenbolger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jarno Mutach had several of the El Salvador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 22 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ricardo Zorita as he didn't even see the shot coming. 28 minutes into the game, Jarno Mutach cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The El Salvador fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when El Salvador's Moises Fernandino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Jorge Magrina managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Magrina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cliff Gottschalk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Moises Fernandino hit a great ball. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moises Fernandino was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Moises Fernandino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cliff Gottschalk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Fernandino got free with Cliff Gottschalk in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moises Fernandino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Cliff Gottschalk made a huge save. After having played for 56 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cliff Gottschalk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abram Luque in the 60th minute. Wolf Ehrenbolger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. Joshua Curbelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Tarada's goalkeeper Cliff Gottschalk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moises Fernandino. Moises Fernandino's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cliff Gottschalk firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Tarada's Cliff Gottschalk got control of the ball when Moises Fernandino tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tarada's goalkeeper Cliff Gottschalk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tarada's Cliff Gottschalk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Tarada from getting a goal against them. When Mateo Leguizamo fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Mateo Leguizamo a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Mateo Leguizamo. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Tarada had won after a very even match.
