In the 42nd minute of the match Trifillia.FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arturo Orixe ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Trifillia.FC's corner Arturo Orixe fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Dimitris Vasilakos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sabit Piruz was the one to do the kick off. Sabit Piruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arturo Orixe was slow to take the kick. During this time Trifillia.FC's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Trifillia.FC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
