Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Baldassarre having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 26th minute of play forced UNLIMITED's goalkeeper Alfonso Baldassarre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Claudinho Almeida ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. UNLIMITED's Alfonso Baldassarre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 35th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, UNLIMITED's 董林阳 sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narciso Rosalio in the 40th minute. UNLIMITED's Alfonso Baldassarre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. UNLIMITED's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play forced UNLIMITED's goalkeeper Alfonso Baldassarre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after UNLIMITED's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 80th minute Richard Häll shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Claudio Corelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudinho Almeida's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. After 93 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudinho Almeida in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Claudinho Almeida sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. UNLIMITED were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
