Eliseo Mina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A throw-in in the 17th minute of the game was made by Ted Oso with Niceto Arixo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milagros Fraga in the 24th minute of play forced Valle Saron's goalkeeper Emiliano Saron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milagros Fraga scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emiliano Saron, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gianfranco Saron made the kick off in the second half. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gianfranco Saron, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Saron in the 74th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. If Arí Saron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Arí Saron left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Valle Saron fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. After 89 played minutes, Peru's Eliseo Mina shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emiliano Saron came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Peru reached it. In the 91st minute Arí Saron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Saron in the 91st minute of play. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Chumo Salces kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
