Mattias Jansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Haldun Bilen came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcus Ekblom during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Los Frogos booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Mattias Jansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. After 82 minutes Los Frogos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Los Frogos's Mattias Jansson did a great save. Mattias Jansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christoffer Mårtensson in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Christoffer Mårtensson kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Los Frogos's Mattias Jansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Los Frogos from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mattias Jansson came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 95th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
