Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henrik Larsson's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute Edward Mcdonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadej Pogačar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Decathlon Dudes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Monty Rogers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off. Sam Campbell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Tadej Pogačar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Decathlon Dudes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jenson Smith was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Marco Baker got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tadej Pogačar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tadej Pogačar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khalid Parry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anthon Melin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere.
