In the 9th minute Pascual Carballar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Dicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Meireles in the 13th minute of play. The Exército Português fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Exército Português's Gergely Balázs looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Carrasqueira in the 20th minute of play. Petruț Dicu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Axel Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petruț Dicu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Petruț Dicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 23rd minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Exército Português's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Petruț Dicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Meireles in the 30th minute of the match. Abram Sarmiento scored 1-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petruț Dicu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Abel Carvalhais kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Colombia's Axel Montenegro couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 44th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Exército Português. Petruț Dicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Kevin Mastache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Abram Sarmiento made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Petruț Dicu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Pascual Carballar hit a great ball. When Gergely Balázs came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Exército Português fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gergely Balázs couldn't finish the play. Exército Português made a substitution. Cornel Murgan replaced Ian Van Den Driessche. Gergely Balázs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petruț Dicu made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Kevin Mastache sent off a good shot on target. Exército Português's Gustavo Carrasqueira quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luis Cazalla, made in the 87th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gergely Balázs in the 88th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascual Carballar got free with Petruț Dicu in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 93 played minutes Exército Português got a freekick which was hit by Marian Axinte. Colombia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
