A collision led to Cacciola getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Armando Toppi hit a great ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Panama booed when Cacciola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulvio Punta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Panama's Abraham Alguacil tried to score from far away in the 9th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 20th match minute, Cacciola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krastyo Planski to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Nunez Hernando made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 40th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Ros to maneuver through the defense. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Frabetti in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Bartolomucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Federico Frabetti to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Nunez Hernando came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nunez Hernando in the 68th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nunez Hernando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugenio Bartolomucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 76thth minute of the game Armando Toppi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nunez Hernando in the 78th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugenio Bartolomucci prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th minute Panama were awarded a corner. Abraham Alguacil went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Abraham Alguacil got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eugenio Bartolomucci quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Toppi in the 82nd minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nunez Hernando hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Cacciola's Emilio Giancola managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Aaron Barrios in the 88 minute of the game. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Toppi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the game, Nunez Hernando cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Armando Toppi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cacciola's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
