The Djurgårdens IF fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Djurgårdens IF's Börje Fagerberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 9th minute, Alan Campos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Best Man was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Djurgårdens IF were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Paraguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Best Man took the corner. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Pankracy Oborski took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Jacobo Nores to make any attempt to save it. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pankracy Oborski in the 24th minute of the match. Jacobo Nores stood somewhat misplaced when Börje Fagerberg came free in front of goal and shot 4-0 to the left of him in the 25 minute. In the 29th minute Djurgårdens IF were awarded a corner. Best Man went to the cornerflag to take it. Djurgårdens IF's Best Man was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jacobo Nores in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 30th minute Pankracy Oborski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Best Man struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Djurgårdens IF. After 34 minutes, Pankracy Oborski made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pankracy Oborski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jacobo Nores came out and tried to block the shot, but Pankracy Oborski slotted it home off the left post making it 6-0 in the 37th minute. After 40 minutes, Best Man mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Djurgårdens IF and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Djurgårdens IF getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Best Man hit a great ball. Helge Lindman kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Börje Fagerberg was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pankracy Oborski in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pankracy Oborski, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pankracy Oborski in the 67th minute of play. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Mark Nilsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Hector Covarrubias. In the 76th minute Pankracy Oborski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. After 84 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Alan Campos. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Börje Fagerberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Best Man had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Djurgårdens IF made a substitution. Eric Biörkquist replaced Alfred Mager. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Djurgårdens IF had won after a very even match.
