Taquaritinga:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Clube Atl. Taquaritinga. Haroldo Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colombia's Axel Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Haroldo Dante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 19th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Haroldo Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Haroldo Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of Colombia booed when Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Varban Pavlikyanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Mastache came free, but Haroldo Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tarcisio Couto made in the 43rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Nilmar de Moraes however managed to control. Pascual Carballar kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abram Sarmiento to strike the kick off in the second half. Severiano Arano made in the 51st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Tarcisio Couto. Colombia's Kevin Mastache managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Severiano Arano in the 53 minute of the game. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Varban Pavlikyanov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Breno Loyola was substituted for Armando Graack. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Haroldo Dante prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 68th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pascual Carballar to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Abram Secada scored to the left of an out of position Haroldo Dante, making the score, 2-2. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga made a substitution. Leonel Messi replaced David Lima. Haroldo Dante made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Orlando Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. 83 minutes into the match, Colombia's Abram Secada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Dante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Varban Pavlikyanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Messi in the 94th minute of the match. The Colombia players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
