Guillermo Mariano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Arrigo Talone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 9 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arrigo Talone was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alberto Cavanna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Arrigo Talone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. In the 19th match minute, LEBEG Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Caniglia to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Tonon in the 23rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 24th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Tonon in the 28th minute of the match. The corner led LEBEG Team's Amedeo Di Vincenzo to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 33rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arrigo Talone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arrigo Talone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of LEBEG Team booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arrigo Talone having to interfere. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ernesto Cardillo during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to LEBEG Team getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ernesto Cardillo hit a great ball. Joshua Secada was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 55th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Roberto Ocampo took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Arrigo Talone to make any attempt to save it. LEBEG Team's Arrigo Talone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save LEBEG Team from getting a goal against them. Venezuela's Patricio Costa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Amedeo Di Vincenzo, made in the 70th minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Roberto Ocampo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arrigo Talone was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. The supporters of Venezuela booed when LEBEG Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armin Borgatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Venezuela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
