Rubim Queirós hit a great ball. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sporting Clube Patrício made a substitution. Manuel Lages replaced Mauro Alcântara. The Sporting Clube Patrício fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ademar Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. Mexico were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
