In the 10th minute, Leopoldo Azevedo made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abram Sarmiento in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mekki Item saved Bandung Tigers from getting behind. Mekki Item made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 19th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Radomir Gajewski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Radomir Gajewski really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. If Orlando Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Bandung Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Mekki Item reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abram Sarmiento struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Mekki Item didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. If Wang Zheng Yun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Azevedo came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wang Zheng Yun in the 35th minute of the match. Mekki Item made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 41st minute of play. After 42 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Abram Sarmiento. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Azevedo in the 45th minute of play. Mekki Item made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Axel Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mekki Item was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. In the 67th match minute, Bandung Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radomir Gajewski to maneuver through the defense. Joshua Garrido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mekki Item having to interfere. The throw-in from Luis Cazalla in the 71st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bandung Tigers's Xiao Jie De. After a rather tough play, Bandung Tigers's Xiao Jie De got a free kick in the 71st minute. 77 minutes into the match, Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abram Secada. 79 minutes into the match, Colombia's Abram Secada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mekki Item narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Azevedo in the 85th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Bandung Tigers defense, Ignacio Mastache kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mekki Item. The Bandung Tigers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mekki Item should have stopped the shot. Colombia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
