In the 19th minute Federico Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Federico Francis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Camilo Freixa. Bolivia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Federico Francis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Federico Francis got free with Camilo Freixa in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Elivareo in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bolivia's zone, Federico Francis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Freixa came out of the goal and Federico Francis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 28 played minutes C.A. BOCA JUNIORS got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Bembe. In the 29th match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Miralles to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ismael Tejedor hit a great ball. After 39 played minutes Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Tejedor. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentin Matei got free with Camilo Freixa in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes into the match, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Valentin Matei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Camilo Freixa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Domingo Blai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Freixa having to interfere. Bolivia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 49th minute, when Domingo Blai scored to the left of an out of position Camilo Freixa, making the score, 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mario Fernandino to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Arnaldo Elivareo got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 64th minute Federico Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Bolivia defense, Federico Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Camilo Freixa. The Bolivia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Camilo Freixa should have stopped the shot. If Valentin Matei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Bolivia's Alfonso de la Cruz got a free kick in the 93rd minute. A collision led to C.A. After 101 minutes, Javier Ospin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A. BOCA JUNIORS and the Bolivia players grew even worse after the yellow card.
