The coaching staff of Paraguay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Iker Tafalla had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Paraguay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hemmersbacher SV:s goal. The goalkeeper, Jacobo Nores, was totally fooled by Hemmersbacher SV's Harvey Dresdner, who 27 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scott Herz, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Harvey Dresdner took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Jacobo Nores to make any attempt to save it. Scott Herz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Nores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Campos during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Scott Herz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. The Hemmersbacher SV support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
