Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Chen Ao Fan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Chen Ao Fan really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Ronnie Hellström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The audience was convinced that Chen Ao Fan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the game, Krister Uggstedt threw the ball into play from the sideline. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chen Ao Fan was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Knut Rudberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Skövde AIK getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Chen Ao Fan hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 64th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronnie Hellström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Skövde AIK made a substitution. Jerry Williams replaced Kurt Hamrin. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 87th minute.
