The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laerte Messias was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the game, Narciso Argoitz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Laerte Messias came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Encarale a la gordita's Laerte Messias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play. Agustín Saelices kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 79thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Encarale a la gordita's keeper Laerte Messias was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. With a little luck, Encarale a la gordita's Laerte Messias got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 90th minute of play forced Encarale a la gordita's goalkeeper Laerte Messias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 minutes, Jaime Paskal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Encarale a la gordita and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Jaime Paskal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
