After 2 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cícero Teles in the 3rd minute of play. Prodromos Britzolidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Alcocer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cícero Teles in the 20th minute of the match. After 24 minutes, Cícero Teles made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Frederico Palmeira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benito Sanz firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cícero Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Bo Sundén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viggo Berggren during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cícero Teles went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frederico Palmeira to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Hannes Qvalfeldt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the game, Hannes Qvalfeldt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salem Gunners BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. A collision led to Salem Gunners BK getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cícero Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Hannes Qvalfeldt was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. When the referee ended the match the Salem Gunners BK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
