An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Söderberg in the 38th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celedonio Dominguez in the 44th minute of the match. Alberto Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Holger Vester having to make a save. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francesco Totti went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Holger Vester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Dominguez came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
