Seyfettin Onursoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. Chinese CJ Youth Academy's David Abad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 24th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Monty Rogers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The USA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Tytus Orling received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marco Day came out and tried to block the shot, but Tytus Orling slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 38th minute. Chinese CJ Youth Academy's Seyfettin Onursoy got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Seyfettin Onursoy to make the kick off. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 55 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Seyfettin Onursoy came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sam Campbell made a great header on USA's corner, it was just that Chinese CJ Youth Academy's David Abad managed to reach the ball for a save. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After a rather tough play, Chinese CJ Youth Academy's Xu Yong Feng got a free kick in the 96th minute. David Abad made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Jenson Smith sent off a good shot on target.
