The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristoforo Tammaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mexico booed when Lunatics of Arianrhod was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Ström didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Hibai in the 12th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Martini came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristoforo Tammaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 19th minute of the match. Cristoforo Tammaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lunatics of Arianrhod's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Luca Zorita scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristoforo Tammaro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Hibai in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Lunatics of Arianrhod's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Cristoforo Tammaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Hibai received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Joel Hibai slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristoforo Tammaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. In the 44th match minute, Lunatics of Arianrhod was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Pereira to maneuver through the defense. After 48 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Lunatics of Arianrhod's Joel Hibai shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 49th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dante Lacasa but with some difficulty. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute Ernesto Martini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Martini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Joel Hibai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lunatics of Arianrhod fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. When Ernesto Martini came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Lunatics of Arianrhod fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Martini couldn't finish the play. Joel Hibai took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fedele Panza in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 84th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristoforo Tammaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lunatics of Arianrhod's Ernesto Martini got a free kick in the 87th minute. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Lunatics of Arianrhod's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Lunatics of Arianrhod's Cristoforo Tammaro managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 91st minute. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesco Romino, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristoforo Tammaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Lunatics of Arianrhod's Fedele Panza. But to his dismay, Fedele Panza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francesco Romino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
