The supporters of FC Kurdistan booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonso Berganza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lars Sundström came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rolando Noboa could save by the left post. The audience was convinced that Fredric Hybbert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Fredric Hybbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Sundström in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute of the match, Fredric Hybbert tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rolando Noboa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 47 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Mina. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Kurdistan made a substitution. Iwan Kasiewski replaced Emanuel Åström. Carlos-Alberto Bayona made in the 63rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Elliot Nordgren immediately put the ball in play. In the 65th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alaaddin Solskjær saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Carlos-Alberto Bayona made a throw-in in the 68th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fredric Hybbert in the 69th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Luz Tejedor got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fredric Hybbert in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Julian Murillo in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alaaddin Solskjær, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Milagros Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Alaaddin Solskjær made a huge save. 77 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Elliot Nordgren came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredric Hybbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fredric Hybbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Prats. 88 minutes into the game, Rafael Gallo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alaaddin Solskjær. Rafael Gallo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 96th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Eliseo Mina went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Eliseo Mina got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alaaddin Solskjær quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
