The tension between the Venezuela and the Avel Vat players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Danny Pasquier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 6th minute of play. In the 9th minute Youri Djorkaeff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 12 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Youri Djorkaeff. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Avel Vat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bilal Moutte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Youri Djorkaeff sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute, Sébastien Milliot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Youri Djorkaeff could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 47th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Youri Djorkaeff to make the kick off. Bilal Moutte hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Youri Djorkaeff in the 56th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Youri Djorkaeff, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Danny Pasquier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danny Pasquier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Émilien Tessier kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Youri Djorkaeff came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Edmond Kubiak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 77 minutes of play, Avel Vat's Youri Djorkaeff made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Youri Djorkaeff managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avel Vat's supporters rose to their feet, but Youri Djorkaeff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Youri Djorkaeff in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Danny Pasquier when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmond Kubiak in the 92nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94thth minute of the game Youri Djorkaeff who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Youri Djorkaeff in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Avel Vat.
