Diablos Rojos's Remus Pinches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of play. Diablos Rojos's Jose-Antonio Capon got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diablos Rojos's attentive Rene Sampedro managed to snatch the ball when Moises Gayoso made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. 唐沙旭's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Remus Pinches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from 唐沙旭 went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If 唐沙旭 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 45 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when 唐沙旭 came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Remus Pinches made a huge save. 72 minutes into the game, Raphael Vidal threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Alonso Berganza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Jose-Antonio Capon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82ndth minute of the game Luz Tejedor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diablos Rojos's Remus Pinches was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 85th minute of play forced Diablos Rojos's goalkeeper Remus Pinches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. The throw-in from Rene Sampedro in the 88th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 唐沙旭 in the 91st minute of play. Remus Pinches came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Rafael Gallo. But to his dismay, Rafael Gallo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Diablos Rojos supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
