Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mano in the 14th minute of play. Kostja Vertot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliseo Mano's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostja Vertot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Eliseo Mano sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mano, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Mano went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Thomas Filipović in the 65 minute of the game. With an all-out effort, Honduras's Kostja Vertot threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edmundo Espiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Eliseo Mano might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Mano ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mano in the 72nd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fajteri's Arnulf Vidmar was substituted for Feručo Camlek. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Vogrinčič in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Vogrinčič in the 87th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Armando Vogrinčič made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Fajteri's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
