The supporters of Costa Rica booed when F.C Alex Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zak Soon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Calistrat Babeș made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. With an all-out effort, F.C Alex Bucuresti's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ştefan Staicu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 47 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C Alex Bucuresti the free kick. After 48 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Calistrat Babeș to make the kick off. In the 70thth minute of the game Valentin Buciuceanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Buciuceanu came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. F.C Alex Bucuresti's Raşit Özdilek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save F.C Alex Bucuresti from getting a goal against them. Ştefan Staicu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Calistrat Babeș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Calistrat Babeș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. Valentin Buciuceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 96th minute.
