Roch Dejo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Ariel Balboa made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Orfilio Orbañanos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kim Hänninen was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Zlatko Ibrahimović's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ariel Balboa firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orfilio Orbañanos in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kim Hänninen saved Fragleses from getting behind.

U. de Tarapacá's Ariel Balboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roch Dejo in the 52nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Orfilio Orbañanos took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Kim Hänninen to make any attempt to save it. Fragleses's Kim Hänninen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orfilio Orbañanos in the 60th minute of play. With an all-out effort, U. de Tarapacá's Kim Hänninen threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Orfilio Orbañanos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Orfilio Orbañanos might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kim Hänninen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orfilio Orbañanos ran back to his position shaking his head. 72 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goal looked a bit too open when Roch Dejo came free, but Ariel Balboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fragleses's Jaroslaw Blochowiak was substituted for Wiktor Gomolka. U. de Tarapacá's Lautaro Bafalluy managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Haralampi Smrikarov in the 74 minute of the game. In the 75th minute, Orfilio Orbañanos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U. de Tarapacá fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Orfilio Orbañanos might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kim Hänninen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orfilio Orbañanos ran back to his position shaking his head. Orfilio Orbañanos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kim Hänninen came out and tried to block the shot, but Orfilio Orbañanos slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 89th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grzegorz Rasiak in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Balboa saved U. de Tarapacá from getting behind. Although Fragleses had been in control for most of the match, U. de Tarapacá still came away with the win.
