The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Marcos Lorenzo sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Lorenzo in the 9th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Lorenzo in the 13th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Lorenzo in the 16th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Marcos Lorenzo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Benjamin Hegg made in the 24th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Karl-Magnus Boberg however managed to control. In the 25th minute, Marcos Lorenzo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.C. GöstasHjältar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The supporters of Venezuela booed when A.C. GöstasHjältar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolf Jönsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. A.C. GöstasHjältar's Joachim Godholm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 28th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcos Lorenzo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 3-0 in the 30 minute of play. After 33 played minutes A.C. GöstasHjältar got a freekick which was hit by Manfred Beck. Ariel Milio charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ariel Milio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of A.C. GöstasHjältar:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. The referee gave Venezuela a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tomas Illescas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of A.C. GöstasHjältar's Joachim Godholm. 3-1. Manfred Beck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl-Magnus Boberg. In the 42nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Godholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Mina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.C. GöstasHjältar the free kick. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 44 played minutes, A.C. GöstasHjältar's Benjamin Hegg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in A.C. GöstasHjältar reached it. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Lorenzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Tomas Illescas in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joachim Godholm, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of A.C. GöstasHjältar booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 played minutes A.C. GöstasHjältar got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Hegg. After a defensive mix-up in A.C. GöstasHjältar's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joachim Godholm came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Lorenzo in the 65th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Lorenzo in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, A.C. GöstasHjältar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Hegg to maneuver through the defense. A.C. GöstasHjältar's Joachim Godholm proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save A.C. GöstasHjältar from getting a goal against them. After 77 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Manfred Beck might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manfred Beck ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 79th minute, Marcos Lorenzo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Joachim Godholm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball. After 92 played minutes, A.C.
