Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joachim Godholm read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karl-Magnus Boberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind A.C. GöstasHjältar's goalkeeper Joachim Godholm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joachim Godholm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute. During the 72nd minute of the match Nicolaas Terhorst completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nicolaas Terhorst a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Ecuador booed when A.C. GöstasHjältar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolaas Terhorst didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Godholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.C. GöstasHjältar's Joachim Godholm proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save A.C. GöstasHjältar from getting a goal against them. After 79 played minutes A.C. GöstasHjältar got a freekick which was hit by Billy Axelsson. In the 80th minute of the match, Felix Montenegro sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Joachim Godholm showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. 83 minutes into the game, Luz Palacio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joachim Godholm. Luz Palacio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. Luz Palacio took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joachim Godholm. Joachim Godholm dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. The supporters of A.C. GöstasHjältar booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luz Palacio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Joachim Godholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Luz Palacio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than A.C. GöstasHjältar.
