After 52 minutes El Salvador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mai Jian Sen who took care of the corner kick. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Franciszek Zukowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. Mai Jian Sen ran back to his position shaking his head. When Mai Jian Sen came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the AS Monaco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mai Jian Sen couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AS Monaco FC fully deserved thier win.
